The Principal Subordinate Court in Coimbatore on Wednesday (February 26, 2025) sentenced two persons to undergo three years of rigorous imprisonment for attempting to murder a youth in the city in 2019.
Principal Subordinate judge B.S. Kalaivani awarded the punishment to T. Gowtham of Ashok Nagar at Selvapuram and N. Kathirvel of Chetti Street.
The case pertains to the assault by the two convicts on M. Bharathikannan of Ashok Nagar on January 19, 2019.
The court awarded three months of imprisonment to Gowtham for offence under 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code.
The court also ordered the two convicts to pay ₹1,000 each as fine.
