Two government officials in ACB net

In two separate incidents reported on Thursday, the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) booked two government officials for allegedly demanding and accepting bribes in return for official favours. The accused include a Deputy Tahsildar from Siddipet district and an Assistant Labour Officer from Mancherial.

In the first case, Yelagandula Bhavani, a 42-year-old Deputy Tahsildar posted at the Tahsildar Office in Mulugu mandal, Siddipet district, was booked for demanding ₹2 lakh from a complainant. The bribe was allegedly demanded on April 24, 2025 in exchange for processing the Pattadar passbook of the complainant’s relative. The case is currently under investigation.

In the second incident, Katam Ram Mohan, an Assistant Labour Officer from Mancherial and Sirpur Kagaznagar, was arrested at his residence while accepting ₹50,000 from a complainant. The amount was allegedly demanded for processing and forwarding an accidental death claim and funeral charges related to the death of the complainant’s brother, a registered building construction labourer.

The tainted cash was recovered, and the accused officer was produced before the special court for ACB cases in Karimnagar. Further investigation is underway.
