Two young women were killed and 18 passengers were injured in a collision between their tractor and a government bus near Bannigol village near Mudgal in Lingsugur taluk of Raichur district on Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as 18-year-old Sridevi and 20-year-old Amaramma, who was four months pregnant, of Bannigol village.
Sridevi died on the spot, while Amaramma was taken at a hospital in Bagalkot where she passed away.
The injured have been shifted to hospitals in Lingsugur and Mudgal where they are getting treatment.
The tractor was carrying the passengers for field work when it collided with the bus that was on its way to Mudgal from Ankalimath.
A case has been registered in the Mudgal Police Station.
