Why does Stalin care about whom we ally with, asks AIADMK

The AIADMK on Sunday hit out at Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, and sought to know why he was bothered about whom the party would ally with and over what preconditions.

The party, in a social media post, asked whether Mr. Stalin had the conscience to talk about Tamil Nadu’s rights. “Did Mr. Stalin speak about the State’s rights when he went to INDI alliance’s first meeting in Patna?…,” it asked.

Neither did Mr. Stalin take up the State’s rights while taking part in the INDI alliance’s second meeting in Bengaluru, it said, and asked: “Did he [the Chief Minister] speak about Tamil Nadu’s rights over the Cauvery considering the plight of our farmers?…” The party further said that Mr. Stalin did not raise the issue of Tamil Nadu’s rights when he went to take part in the INDI alliance’s meeting in New Delhi. Pointing out that Karnataka was now being ruled by the Congress, the AIADMK further asked: “Will @mkstalin announce that alliance with the Congress [will continue] only if the rights of Tamil Nadu over the Cauvery was granted?”

NEET row

On the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) issue, the AIADMK recalled the DMK’s alliance with the Congress and the litigation in the Supreme Court. “Is there a greater betrayal to the students of Tamil Nadu than this by Mr. Stalin and the DMK?…”

The party also rejected Mr. Stalin’s criticism of AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami over various issues.“No one will believe the ‘Ooty drama’ being staged now, after coming to power by saying they have a secret [to get TN an exemption from NEET ambit],” it charged.
