WoW Awards: Tessy Thomas – excellence in education, S&T

“The Defence Research and Development Organisation gave me the opportunity to work on strategic missile systems,” said Tessy Thomas, who bagged the The Hindu Excellence in Education, Science & Technology award. “Women can do wonderful things if the opportunities are there,” she added. Known as the Missile Woman of India, she has redefined the landscape of Indian science. The award was given to her by Pannalal Chordia, Management Committee member of AM Jain College, and Justice R.N. Manjula, of the Madras High Court, for her remarkable journey for illuminating the boundless potential of women in the realm of scientific innovation.
